HISTORY

June 1991

The firm was founded by Michael Kyprianou, who initially set up the Nicosia office.

January 2002

The Limassol office begins its operations.

January 2004

The Paphos office begins its operations.

August 2007

Menelaos Kyprianou, Tonia Antoniou, Savvas Savvides and Lambros Soteriou become partners in the firm.

October 2009

The Athens office begins its operations.

September 2011

Ilias Tsintavis becomes a partner in Michael Kyprianou Law Firm (Athens) which is responsible for the Greek operations of the firm.

March 2013

The Malta office begins its operations.

August 2015

A survey carried out by the local financial magazine Gold ranks the firm as fifth largest in Cyprus in terms of size.

October 2015

The Kyiv office begins its operations. Dmitry Perevoschykov becomes a partner in Michael Kyprianou Law Firm (Ukraine) which is responsible for the Ukraine operations of the firm.

February 2016

The firm is awarded the prestigious export award for services by the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry for the year 2014.

April 2016

The firm is ranked and recommended by the international law directories Legal 500 and Chambers in all the fields that it provides services in: banking and finance, EU and competition, dispute resolution, tax, corporate, commercial

December 2016

The Dubai office begins its operations. Khamis Abulhawa becomes a partner in Michael Kyprianou (Middle East) DMCC which is responsible for the Dubai operations of the firm.

August 2017

A survey carried out by the local financial magazine Gold ranks the firm as fourth largest in Cyprus in terms of size.

March 2018

The London office begins its operations.

January 2019

Marina Hadjisoteriou becomes a partner at the firm.

January 2020

Ioanna Solomou, Esme Palas and Lorena Charalambous become partners at the firm.

January 2021

Christos Galanos and Eleni Drakou become partners at the firm.

June 2022

The Frankfurt office begins its operations. Benjamin Hasan becomes a partner at the firm, heading the office in Germany.  

August 2022

A survey carried out by the local business magazine GOLD ranks the firm as second largest in Cyprus in terms of size.

January 2023

Constantina Zantira becomes a partner at the firm.

March 2023

The Tel Aviv office begins its operations. Gilad Tuffias becomes a partner at the firm, heading the office in Israel. 

May 2023

Nick Kounoupias becomes a partner at the firm, heading the IP department.

August 2023

The firm has been ranked second largest leading law firm in Cyprus in terms of size, following a survey by business magazine GOLD.

January 2024

Andreas Lytras, Christos Tourvas, Kyriakos Constantinou and Stephanos Ayiomamitis become partners at the firm.

March 2024

In its latest edition the renowned legal director Chambers and Partners recommends the firm for its work in the fields of General Business Law and Dispute Resolution.

August 2024

The Warsaw office begins its operations.
