As celebrated across the world, every 26th of April, the World IP Day is one of the most celebrated events, established by the World Intellectual Property Office (WIPO). As WIPO notes, the World IP event was created to:
"raise awareness of how patents, copyright, trademarks and designs impact on daily life" and "to celebrate creativity, and the contribution made by creators and innovators to the development of societies across the globe".
The day was chosen as a symbolic reference to the date on which the Convention Establishing the World Intellectual Property Organization entered into force in 1970.
Each year has its own dedicated theme associated with the event. This year’s theme is “IP and SMEs: Taking your ideas to market”.
Some of the key campaign messages focusing especially on the role of IP to SMEs (Small to Medium-sized Enterprises) include the following:
These are some powerful messages that undoubtedly must be spread across the world.
Thus, we must never forget that an idea can always be turned into the ideal!
Happy World IP Day from our IP Team!
