Constantina Zantira, Partner in the firm and Secretary of the Committee on Civil Procedure Rules and Reform of the Cyprus Bar Association co-moderated the seminar titled “Court proceedings via (video)conferencing: Practices and Suggestions”.
The seminar was hosted by the Cyprus Bar Association and took place at Nicosia on 17th September 2024.
The distinguished speakers, Mr. Gregory Pipe (Monckton Chambers), Dr. Masood Ahmed, (Associate Professor of Law, University of Leicester), Mrs. Maria Toula (Ministry of Justice of Greece) and Mr. Soterios Tsouvalas (Senior Judge, Greece) addressed the legal, procedural, technological and practical aspects of conducting hearings remotely and taking evidence via videoconferencing in the United Kingdom and Greece, providing great insight in the endeavour to modernise the Cyprus legal system.
Welcome address speeches were given by Mrs. Lena Demetriadou-Andreou, Justice of the Supreme Court, Mr. Michael Vorkas, President of the Cyprus Bar Association and Mrs. Fedra Gregoriou, Director of the Department of Justice of the Ministry of Justice and Public Order.
