The Great Britain–Cyprus Business Gazette (May 2020 edition) was recently published by the Great Britain–Cyprus Association (GBCA). The aim of this Association is to bring business opportunities closer to its members through marketing, networking, meetings and introductions between affiliated companies from the UK and Cyprus.

The main theme of the abovementioned e-newsletter was the impact of COVID-19 in the UK and Cyprus, and included in this e-newsletter was the announcement made by the President of Cyprus, Mr Nicos Anastasiades, regarding the gradual easing of lockdown as from 4th May 2020. In addition, the opinions of prominent bodies and authorities were gauged, including those of the Cyprus Investment Funds Association (CIFA), as well as the recent online discussion between the Minister of Finance, Mr Constantinos Petrides, and various top delegates of Invest Cyprus, entitled ‘The Cyprus-COVID-19 Response Plan – what lies ahead’?

Of particular interest, also, were the Q&A interviews held with several distinguished professionals and businesspeople from the UK and Cyprus who expressed their personal views about the economic impact of COVID-19 on the UK and Cyprus, on various industries, such as Real Estate, Tourism, Finance and others.

One such interview was conducted by Mr. Savvas Savvides, who heads the Paphos Branch in Cyprus of Michael Kyprianou & Co LLC. This law firm has an international presence in six countries, including the UK and Cyprus, and has been internationally recognized as one of the largest and most efficient law firms in Cyprus.
