of time for the submission of data of Beneficial Owners in the Beneficial Owners register of companies and other legal entities"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u03a4he Department of Registrar announced on their website on the 1<sup>st<\/sup>\u00a0of March 2022 that the submission period of beneficial owners data is extended to\u00a0<strong>31.07.2022.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The obliged entities are hereby reminded that subject to the provisions of the Directive for the Prevention and Suppression of Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing R.A.A. 112\/2021 , each corporate and other legal entity and each of its officials shall take all reasonable steps to obtain and maintain adequate, accurate and up-to-date information regarding the beneficial owners of the corporate and another legal entity, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the name, surname, date of birth, nationality and place of residence of each of its beneficial owners;<\/li>\n<li>the nature and extent of the final ownership status held directly or indirectly by each beneficial owner, including through a percentage of shares, voting rights or significant personal influence, or the type and extent of ultimate control exercised directly or indirectly by each beneficial owner;<\/li>\n<li>the identity document number of the natural person, the type of document and the country of issuance of the document;<\/li>\n<li>the date on which the natural person became the beneficial owner; and<\/li>\n<li>the date on which the details of the natural person changed or on which he ceased to be the beneficial owner.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Provided that where after exhausting all possible means and provided that there are no reasonable suspicions, no natural person is identified as the beneficial owner or if there is a doubt whether the person identified is indeed the beneficial owner, the details under (a) to (e) above of the natural person who holds the position of senior management executive shall be acquired and kept by the corporate and other legal entity.<\/p>\n<p>Notwithstanding the criminal liability or prosecution of any person, in the event of failure to comply with any of the obligations referred above, the corporate or other legal entity and each of its officials shall be subject to a fine of two hundred Euros (\u20ac 200) and a further fine of one hundred Euros (\u20ac 100) for each day of continuation of the violation with a maximum charge of twenty thousand Euros (\u20ac20,000).<\/p>\n<p>If you need any advice or further information in relation to the Register of Beneficial
