The first Cyprus Arbitration Day successfully took place in Limassol on 21st and 22nd May 2023. Cyprus Arbitration Forum, set up by 22 leading Cyprus firms and a local institute, CEDRAC, organised an excellent event with 165 participants from 20 countries around the world, including distinguished experts in the field of international arbitration.

This year’s topic was ‘’Arbitrating Disputes in the Middle East at Times of Dynamic Geopolitical Changes’’. The conference featured panel sessions at which leading practitioners, arbitrators and other experts considered the geopolitical changes affecting dispute resolution in the MENA region, applicable laws and appropriate seats for MENA disputes, interim measures and enforcement of arbitral awards and MENA specific disputes.

Our firm Michael Kyprianou & Co LLC was amongst the sponsors of the conference and Partner Marina Hadjisoteriou was one of the speakers at the conference, discussing issues of interest relating to interim measures and enforcement in the context and in support of foreign arbitration proceedings. Partner Constantina Zantira and Associate Eleana Poulladou also attended the conference.
