Michael Kyprianou & Co LLC at the 25th Marine Money Greek Ship Finance Forum

topic

Organised by Marine Money International in its effort to bridging the gap between shipowners and the international capital markets, the 25th Marine Money Greek Ship Finance Forum was held on October 17th, 2023 in Athens, Greece.

The forum attracted reputable shipowners and financiers of shipping from New York to Europe and Asia, and provided solutions for raising ship finance.

The event agenda included insightful panel discussions around the topics of ship financing and investment opportunities. Furthermore, it enabled important exchanges about the mission towards cleaner shipping, looking at first movers, technology progress and implementation and the longer-term solution. Questions raised and responded to by panellists included how realistic it is for shipping to be carbon neutral by 2050, what progress is being made in 2023 and who will ultimately pay for the massive investment required, with leading innovators, owners and financiers discussing the reality of decarbonization and its cost, and the progress being made by Greek owners compared to others.

Kyriakos Constantinou, Senior Associate at Michael Kyprianou & Co LLC who specialises in shipping financing and represented the firm at the event, stated: “The forum provided the ideal platform for our firm to strengthen its position as a leader and experienced consultant to Ship Finance and Maritime and Shipping in general.”
