Michael Kyprianou & Co. LLC proudly announces that our Global Head of Shipping,\u00a0Gina Panayiotou, has been elected to the Board of WISTA Cyprus (Women\u2019s International Shipping & Trading Association), at the associations 6th\u00a0AGM held yesterday, 29th\u00a0of November, 2018, at the Columbia Plaza, in Limassol.<\/p>\n

Gina has been an active member of WISTA Cyprus since 2014 when she joined the association, serving also as first elected Young Board Affiliate in 2017, while she is responsible for the online communications and press matters in respect of promoting the association.<\/p>\n

Gina stated in her speech that: \u201cI find it quite remarkable that WISTA began in 1974 with a small group of women, and today it counts more than 3000 members from 44 countries around the world and has recently also obtained a consultative status with the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) – Hard work, and collaboration, pays off.<\/em>\u00a0–<\/em>\u00a0Each of us is capable of doing amazing things, and together we can \u201cmove the world.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Gina is a highly qualified legal professional, with experience from the core shipping industry, having served as Legal Manager of a ship-owning company for several years. She specializes in shipping, maritime, commercial law and legal strategy. Gina was awarded the first \u201cYoung Leader Award,\u201d in Cyprus and has been selected among the top 100 lawyers of the GC Powerlist 2018: Greece and Cyprus, by Legal 500,while she has also sat on the Legal, as well as the Development and Promotion committees of the Cyprus Shipping Chamber<\/p>\n

The new board of the association for 2018-2020 has been formed as follows:<\/p>\n
