8th Amendment of the Constitution of the Republic of Cyprus – the establishment of the Administrative Court of Cyprus

The Constitution of the Republic of Cyprus and in particular Article 146 of the Constitution was recently amended pursuant to the Establishment and Operation of the Administrative Court Law 2015 (Law 131(I)/2015) which was published in the Official Gazette on 21/7/2015.

The new law provides that the Administrative Court, which will be held in Nicosia, shall have exclusive jurisdiction to hear any recourse filed against a decision, act or omission of any person, organ or authority exercising executive or administrative authority.

The Administrative Court shall officially commence its operations upon the publication of the relevant notification of the Supreme Court in the Official Gazette.
