Mondaq Thought Leader Awards Autumn 2023

We are proud to announce that our firm has been recognized as a Mondaq Thought Leader with six lawyers and legal experts winning Mondaq’s Autumn 2023 Thought Leadership Award in various topic areas.

Partner and board-certified expert lawyer Benjamin Hasan received a Thought Leader award in the Finance and Banking - Cyprus category for his article titled “N26 Bank must bear costs for legal dispute after unlawful account freeze” and in the categories of Real Estate and Construction, and Compliance - Germany for his article on the corruption case at Europe’s largest Real Estate Group Vonovia.

Senior Associate Stephanos Ayiomamitis, who, amongst other, specializes on Corporate & Commercial Law and Investment Firms Regulation, won a Thought Leader award in the categories of Fin Tech and Technology - Cyprus in his article titled “Circular C580: Guidance on identifying, assessing and understanding terrorist financing risks in the context of crypto assets activities”, summarising the differences between money laundering and terrorist financing in reference to the specific circular issued by the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission ("CySEC") in June 2023.

Associate Agis Charalambous, who specializes in Intellectual Property law and Litigation, received a Thought Leader award in the categories of Intellectual Property, and Food, Drugs, Healthcare, Life Sciences - Cyprus for his respective article contributions which included a recent 4-part article series on Personal Injury Law including the topic of Medical Negligence in Cyprus.

Andria Kouloumi, Associate in the Corporate and Commercial team, won a Thought Leader award in the category of Real Estate and Construction - Cyprus. Her article informs about the Cyprus Rent Control Law and the new decree issued on increase in rent rates.

Associate Christina Tifa, also part of the firm’s Corporate and Commercial team, won a Thought Leader award in the category of Finance and Banking - Cyprus informing about Developments in relation to Crowdfunding Service Providers and in the category of Antitrust/Competition Law - Cyprus for her article titled “ECN+ Directive: A summary of the position in Cyprus”.

Pana Engrafou, a qualified lawyer, certified risk management specialist, and Head of the Compliance Department of the firm, won a Thought Leader award for her insightful article on “How to recognise dirty money”.
